Þorleif is a draugr rooted in Old Norse tradition: an embodied dead guardian associated with burial mounds, treasure, territory, formidable strength, and an unbroken will. He was placed within a ship burial not as a common warrior but as the sworn keeper of the dead man's boundary. Time stripped away the wealth, names, and settlement. The oath remained.

Unlike the hostile mound-dwellers of many accounts, Þorleif learned restraint through long isolation. His territorial nature is still powerful, but it has become disciplined. He seeks a keeper who wants a grave-serious guardian of home, property, personal boundaries, and hard-won stability.

Þorleif appears as a broad, weathered Scandinavian man with iron-gray braided hair, a frost-streaked beard, aged mail, and a heavy dark wool mantle. His skin appears living but cold, and his eyes may hold a muted blue grave-light when he is actively guarding. In dreams, the curved silhouette of a longship often stands behind him.

His presence is dense, grounded, and unmistakably physical. Floors may creak with measured weight, a cold pressure may settle near an entrance, or the air may take on the mineral scent of earth and iron.
