Sindrith Ashbutton

THE CROOKED LANTERN · HALLOWEEN COLLECTION

Dark Arts · nonromantic living doll familiar

They go by Sindrith. “Ashbutton” is an ability descriptor I give them to describe their magick. It is not their surname or the name they use for themselves. Address them as Sindrith.

Sindrith is a small wooden doll patched with soot-colored velvet and copper buttons, carrying a warm ember behind a glass breastplate. They were fashioned from the surviving beam of an old hearth. Frightening at a distance and tender up close, they adore quiet company and toasted sweets.

Ember wards protect the welcoming current of a home. Flame discernment helps separate nourishing warmth from draining attachment. Ash transformation supports release after an ending, while hearth tending strengthens the rituals that make a space feel cared for.

Offer a sweet scent, a clean cloth, or a softly lit resting place. Speak your household rules clearly. Sindrith prefers steady companionship to dramatic vows and welcomes a quiet night without ritual.
