Wrynnock Rootkin

THE CROOKED LANTERN · HALLOWEEN COLLECTION

Light–Grey Arts · ancient woodland familiar

They go by Wrynnock. “Rootkin” is an ability descriptor I give them to describe their magick. It is not their surname or the name they use for themselves. Address them as Wrynnock.

Wrynnock is a stout living trunk with a crown of silver leaves, a warm knotwood face, and a little door where their heartwood rests. They have watched an old footpath through centuries of seasons. Patient, kind, and quietly humorous, they value slow companionship and promises kept in small ways.

Heartwood anchoring steadies a household current. Root wards establish a gentle protected boundary. Path luck supports a nurtured intention, while grove dreamwork offers quiet visits for renewal and reflection. Wrynnock’s influence develops through consistency rather than intensity.

Offer fresh water, a leaf drawing, or time caring for your space. Begin with a short greeting and one intention you can tend regularly. They welcome silence as readily as conversation.
